Q. I’m new to graphic design and want to learn. What do I need?
I want to start designing wraps, and motorsports related materials. But I’m not sure where to start
Answer
There are a couple of things that are important to know before you get started. SRGFX.com resources are not stand alone programs. Our resources are design files that are compatible with 3rd party graphic design software. The 3rd party graphic design software of your choice will be required to open and edit our design resources. Our resources are created with the presupposition that they will be used by experienced graphic designers who understand how to open, modify and design with the files. However we do welcome newcomers. If you are just starting out in the design world, below are some tips.
1. You need a graphic design software.
There are many to chose from. It is really important that the graphic design software you chose is a vector graphic editing software such as:
- Adobe Illustrator (recommended)
- Affinity Designer
- Corel Draw
- Flexi Sign
- Inkscape (Free)
Photoshop and Gimp are programs that we do not recommend unless you are painting cars for video games (Sim Racing).
2. Learn from us. We will help!
You will need to take the time to learn the graphic design software. This is not a quick process, but we can help! Graphic design software has many tools and a learning curve. Here at SRGFX.com our team uses Adobe Illustrator. We have created a course that will cover the most important tools and how to use them in Adobe Illustrator.
