Horizontal patterns typically fade out or disintegrate at the top or bottom of the screen. Horiztonal patterns will fill from left to right seamlessly but will not stack on top of each other gracefully. We like to use horizontal screens on car doors and allow them to fade out or disintegrate once they get to the top of the door. Full patterns are usually solid and consistent all the way through which allow the pattern to flood or fill any shape from top to bottom.

Depending on your design software, setting vector screens as a fill pattern will be different. Each of our screens are seamless so all you have to do is set it as a pattern and it will fill your graphic element. For instance in Adobe Illustrator you simply take the screen pattern and copy it into the document you are designing in. Once it is in the document you can drag and drop it onto the swatches pallet. The screen is now a pattern fill that you can select from the swatches pallet.

There are many different ways to optimize different software for faster viewing. Some screens have a lot of details and vector points that can potentially slow down your design program. Our recommendation is to add them in last so if you do experience slow downs you don’t have to design the whole wrap at slower speeds. It is also recommend that you research your design software’s viewing optimization. For instance in Adobe Illustrator you can turn down the viewing resolution so your file is faster to work with. This doesn’t decrease the file quality at all but does make the designers experience more manageable.

Vector pattern screens are called “screens” because we think of them like a door screen. Each of them contain solid elements, but the pattern as a whole can be seen through revealing colors an other graphic elements that are behind it.
