Design Tip #1 50% active color
Active colors are similar if not the same as warm colors. By keeping half the colors in the wrap as the active (red) color it gives a clear place to lead eyes through the design into the black for ultra contrast in numbers and sponsors. The tan creates a design rest before hitting the punchy red and black again. Keeping colors 50% active and 50% inactive (tan) creates the right amount of contrast to draw attention to the design.
Design Tip #2 Darkest color border
As obvious as it seems, having the darkest color (black) border the sponsors and numbers keeps the number and sponsor super legible and full of contrast so that its easy to both read in person and on tv or streaming services.
